January/February Sermon Series from Pastor Steve:
LOVE. It seems that love is what everyone in the world wants and needs. Popular musicians make millions of dollars singing songs about being in love or losing love or telling us that “all we need is love.” Add to that the Bible’s instruction to “love your neighbor as yourself” and “love the Lord your God with all of your heart, mind, soul and strength”, it is evident that love is at the center of the life we long to have. Without love, our lives have little meaning.
But then we look at how we use the word. I love chocolate. I love dogs. I love music. I love football. I love life. I love my children. I love my wife/husband. I love Jesus.
I love ____________. As we look at this list it is easy to see that the word love can have a wide range of meaning and degree.
That is why, Pastor Steve has begun a series looking at the definition of the word Love as we find it in First Corinthians 13. In this passage, Paul defines love for us by telling us what it is and what it is not. By looking at these things, we can get a clearer picture, not only of what love is for us, but also of the character of God.
January 16/17 - What Love is Not
January 23/24 - God’s Patient Love
January 30/31 - God's Patient Love, continued
February 6/7 - God’s Kind Love
February 13/14 - god's Kind Love, continued
If you can't be with us on a given weekend, podcasts of the sermons are available on this website.
