THE TEN MOST WANTED LIST
The "Ten Most Wanted List" has been an extremely effective means by which donations can be directed, by members or friends of St. Mark, toward the purchase of items needed by the committees and other organizations within the Church. The "Ten Most Wanted List" is displayed in the Narthex on an ongoing basis. We have had a terrific response for funding the 10 Most Wanted items. Great News!..several of our most wanted items have been given partial funding through memorial gifts and gifts from our generous congregation. Thank you to all who have contributed. We are extremely grateful for those gifts.
We want to thank those who contributed to the pew cleaning and dehumidifier/humidifier items. Your generosity is very much appreciated. Funding is still needed for:
- Media Room -- total cost $15,000 - still needed: $4,163.09
- Computers for Office -- total cost $3,000 - still needed: $2,463.13
- New exterior halogen steeple lights for improved lighting—estimated cost $4,000
- Concrete replacement on the east side of the church between Mark and Luke doors. Concrete has been patched numerous times—estimated cost $12,000
- Scholarships for Preschool - This request is to cover 1/2 of the tuition for two pre-kindergarten students at our preschool. Total cost $742 each. This is an opportunity to help families and support our youth.
- Refurbishing of the Hand Bells -- total cost $1750 -- The Bell Choir members annually clean & polish the outside of the bells, but proper maintenance of these expensive instruments needs to be done by a professional. We have a total of 40 bells and because tarnish collects on the inside of the bells, causing pitting & wear on the interior parts, they should be cleaned every few years. The last time the bells were thoroughly cleaned was 10 years ago.The process of disassembly, cleaning & polishing, reassembly, adjusting the clapper setting & tension, and a tuning & ringing check on all of our bells is $1750.
- Van Maintenance -- Our church van is used weekly by various groups. Recently the van needed some major repairs. The Property Committee is requesting a donation of $2700 to help with maintenance costs.
