Reverend Dr. Dave Burgess
Senior PastorThe Reverend Dr. Dave Burgess began serving at St. Mark in August of 2017 after previous calls in Southwest Missouri, Lower Alabama, and Southern California. He received a Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Missouri in 1996, a Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary in 2001, and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Columbia Theological Seminary in 2013. The words of Emil Brunner, a Swiss theologian from the first half of the twentieth century, are foundational to his faith: “The Church exists by mission, just as a fire exists by burning. Where there is no mission, there is no Church; and where there is neither Church nor mission, there is no faith.”
Pastor Dave is passionate about preaching, teaching, and helping others to know the fullness of God’s love for them and their neighbors. His door is always open for conversation, counsel, and prayer.
